If an event hasn&#x27;t happened in a while, it&#x27;s &#x27;due&#x27; to happen soon.

For independent events (like coin tosses or die rolls), past outcomes do not influence future outcomes. Each event is fresh, and the probability remains the same. This is known as the Gambler&#x27;s Fallacy.

It is easy to think

A probability of 1/2 means an event will happen exactly half the time in any number of trials.

Probability describes the long-term relative frequency. In a small number of trials, the actual results may vary significantly from the theoretical probability. For example, tossing a coin 10 times might not yield exactly 5 heads.

Confusing &#x27;likely&#x27; with &#x27;certain&#x27; or &#x27;unlikely&#x27; with &#x27;impossible&#x27;.

The clearer idea

A likely event has a high chance but is not guaranteed (e.g., &#x27;It will likely rain tomorrow&#x27;). An unlikely event has a low chance but is not impossible. Only events with probability 1 are certain, and only events with probability 0 are impossible.
