CBSE’s official marks for each group of units, and the practical or project.

Marks are printed for groups of units. CBSE does not split a group.

CBSE prints one mark figure for each group of units. It does not give separate marks inside a group.

Example: Units I-III together carry 23 marks. CBSE does not say how those marks divide inside the group, so do not split them.

Short answer. The Class 11 Physics theory paper is 70 marks and 3 hours. The practical is 30 marks. Class 11 exams are set by the school. The marks are split over 4 groups: Units I-III 23, Units IV-VI 17, Units VII-IX 20 and Unit X 10.

CBSE says: "The assessment scheme will be similar to class XII Board examination and shall be carried out at school level." CBSE does not hold a Class 11 board exam, and it does not publish Class 11 sample papers, past papers or a date sheet.

The practical exam is 3 hours. The marks are the same for Class 11 and Class 12.
