TL;DR. There is no best AI tutor for CBSE in general, only a best one for a specific failure. If your child follows a worked example and freezes on anything unfamiliar, choose a tool that diagnoses and repairs earlier ideas. If they explain well and lose marks on speed or accuracy, choose practice, not teaching. If they have stopped trying, no software fixes that first. Pick the row that matches, then read the guide for your child's year.

This page does not rank products, does not claim any tool raises marks, and does not publish claims about other companies' prices or features that we cannot verify. It does state plainly where SwaVid fits and where buying it would be a mistake.

Almost every product in this category can explain a chapter. That is the easy part, and it is no longer a differentiator. The hard part is deciding which chapter to explain. A CBSE child who is stuck in Class 8 algebra is usually not stuck on Class 8 algebra: they are stuck on a Class 6 or Class 7 idea that Class 8 assumes and never revisits.

So the question to put to any tool, free or paid, is whether it is capable of concluding that this week's chapter is not the problem. Four things follow from that, and they are worth checking before you pay for anything.

This matters more than most parents expect, because it decides whether the material you are about to buy matches the book on your child's desk. Classes 6 to 9 have moved to new NEP-aligned NCERT textbooks in recent sessions, with narrative chapter titles rather than topical ones. A great deal of guide-book, coaching and video material still follows the previous editions, so a chapter number quoted in a video will often not match.

It is also a fair test of a tutoring product. A tool that cannot name the chapter your child is currently on is not curriculum-aware, whatever the marketing says. Each row below links to a full guide for that year.

Book titles and chapter counts checked on 9 September 2026 against NCERT front matter published at ncert.nic.in . Confirm the title printed on your child's own copy before buying any guide book.

This compares categories of product, not named companies. Each row is genuinely good at something. The mistake most parents make is buying a row that does not match the failure they actually have.

SwaVid is a diagnosis-first AI learning platform for Indian students in Classes 6 to 10, covering CBSE and NCERT Maths and Science, sold to families rather than to schools. It refuses to teach the current chapter until it has found and repaired the prerequisite the child is missing. That is a real advantage for one problem and a real disadvantage for others.

A reasonable fit

The wrong choice

Worth separating what is established from what is our own model. The problem is well documented: 25.6% of Class 5 students in India can solve a basic division problem, which is a Class 3 skill (ASER 2022). About half of the difference in school achievement traces to missing prerequisites rather than to ability (Bloom, 1976).

The rest is ours and should be read as such. SwaVid's curriculum model traces one unrepaired Class 6 idea into fourteen struggling topics by Class 9. A classroom validation at Apple Global School produced 150 test submissions and 191 feedback responses, with 85% of learning profiles confirmed accurate by the teachers who taught those students. That is a validation of profile quality. It is not an efficacy study and it does not measure grade improvement, and we will not present it as though it did.

Before spending anything, run this. Ask your child to show you the one question they got wrong, not the ones they got right. Ask them to explain the step they are unsure of, out loud, with nothing to copy from. If they can execute the procedure and cannot say why it is allowed, the gap is earlier than this week's chapter and buying more teaching of this week's chapter will not help.

Then run the free Learning Debt Identifier. It scans the NCERT prerequisite chain across Maths or Science for Classes 6 to 10 and returns a repair order naming the idea to fix first, rather than a score. If it tells you the foundation is solid, we would rather you spent the money on practice papers than on us.

- It finds the missing prerequisite rather than only re-teaching the current exercise.
- It is bound to your child's actual NCERT class, chapter and concept, not to an open chat that can wander anywhere.
- It makes the child explain the idea back with the help withdrawn, instead of accepting a tapped answer as evidence.
- It shows you, the parent, a next repair step rather than a chat transcript or an internal score.
- A child in Classes 6 to 10 who follows worked examples and freezes on unfamiliar questions.
- A drop in marks that nobody can explain, in a child who was fine two years ago.
- Parents who want to know which earlier idea is missing rather than receive a percentage.
- Households where nobody has the hours to work backwards through two years of NCERT by hand.
- A child who understands and simply needs volume, speed or exam technique. Buy question banks.
- The final weeks before Class 10 boards. Use timed past papers instead.
- Classes 4 and 5, or Classes 11 and 12. There is no SwaVid product for those years.
- Subjects other than Maths and Science, or boards whose syllabus departs substantially from NCERT.
- Any parent who wants a guaranteed increase in marks. We do not make that claim.
